5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant series, 15 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Largo Winch Vol.1: The Heir: Heir v. 1 (Paperback)
Easy to read yet great stories, cool setting and very entertaining series. I read them again and again, and recommend them to anyone who will listen, as an essential product of my homeland next to chocolate, fries and beer (yes, Belgium)
Don't be fooled by the movie by the way, the quality of the graphic novel/comic is quite different.
A good thing about the English version is that they come as a complete story (the original version has two books per 'story', so you need to buy at least two for them to make sense, whereas here they are bundled).
I would recommend the original (in French) to anyone who can read French, but puns aside it should work as well in English.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta love that Largo., 16 April 2009
This review is from: Largo Winch Vol.1: The Heir: Heir v. 1 (Paperback)
So here is the simple equation:
The Prodigal Son
[ADD] Trading Places (-1)
[TO THE POWER OF] The Apprentice (the finals)
[DIVIDE BY] Hamlet
[SQUARE BY] 24 style time constraint, Tin Tin, Lonely Planet and "page 3"
[MULTIPLY BY] James Bond (movies, not books)
[SQUARE ROOT TO] James Bond (pop culture icon)
This all equals = Largo Winch ...
Loved it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Damaged, 6 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Largo Winch Vol.1: The Heir: Heir v. 1 (Paperback)
The story of the book is great. I am a fan of Largo Winch and having read them in French I wanted to compare the English version.
Unfortunately the pages of the book had detached from the book cover and had been badly glued back.
There were grease stains from the glue and the lower part of the book was loose and not stuck to the cover.
The book was in such a bad state that it should not have been sent out.
A positive point was that they refunded the money quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Missed Opportunity, 24 Jan. 2011

I bought is for a nephew to encourage his reading, but had half an eye on having a read through it myself because the reviews on Forbidden Planet were so good. I failed, said nephew having left with the book before I had a chance to read it. I guess we deduce from that he liked it.
