This book is a good read for the interested party. It would have been a little more helpful to have had an illustration of each type of apple by the write up. Still, I do think it has some good tips for the amateur and I confess that I do have the other books in this range as they are really informative and tactile to hold with artists' images in two or more centre folding pages. Pocket sized and useful for many age groups.

This book is a really handy size edition that you can simply place into most pockets...the contents, along with some illustrations are very handy and cover the following headings: In Search of the Perfect Apple; Dessert Apples; Cooking Apples; Cider Apples; Growing Your Own; and other items as well. I like my purchase and believe that you would do also.
