Answers a lot of questions you realise you don't know when you move to another country. How to buy a house, get a mortgage, set up utilities, the tax and social security requirements, pitfalls, beaurocracy and so on. You can find much of this out through the internet but it's useful to have it all in one reference book you can dip in to when the need arises. It helps when planning a move and helps you when you get there. For me, getting information is key to allaying some of the fears you get when moving in to the unknown. It shouldn't take away the challenge and fun of finding things out for yourself though, which can sometimes be a real challenge in Italy!

Occasionally observations of Italian cultural stereotypes intrude in to the otherwise informative style, but this can be forgiven in the context of setting the scene. Hopefully, the reader will soon find out the truth or fallacy of these stereotypes when meeting real Italians! Experiences will differ depending on where in Italy you move, if you have a job before you go, whether you have a family, are buying or renting property and so on. A worthwhile introduction to living and working in Italy, should help you on your way.

It arrived quickly and it was in good condition. However it was unclear on the website what issue I was buying and when it arrived it was 6 years out of date which given the kind of information on tax, visas, telephones etc meant that most of that was also out of date! So not much use really.

Thanks for the super fast delivery! Book as advertised - the only thing I wasn't certain about when I ordered it was the edition - can confirm it is the latest (3rd edition). Really great, thorough, informative book.
