5.0 out of 5 stars Keep this one handy!,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)This is one book in my collection that will get dog-eared! What a tremendous resource. I started underlining and making notes in the margin on the very first page. It's chock full of useful information for anyone working from home. I've been working freelance for almost 5 years now and it was still a goldmine for me, and also reminded me of some tried and true methods that had fallen by the wayside. I especially like the recap of resources and the case studies at the end of each chapter (my favorite one was for Market Samurai). You do need some knowledge of online marketing to understand what he's talking about in most of the book but if you're a newbie and really keen, there's enough examples and guidance for you to learn as you go.
Thanks Nick and Graham for an amazing resource!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Basics,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur - how to make a living anywhere in the world (Kindle Edition)This is a good book of basics for anyone starting an on-line business, or even setting up a blog. Good, clear advice followed up with case studies.
4.0 out of 5 stars Making money while the sun shines is every marketer's dream . . .,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)Have you ever sat in a beach cafe and wondered if people really can make a living from such a location. I've been doing so for around seven years. I wish when I started I had access to this book.
Everything you need to know to start to use the Internet to earn money is contained within the book's covers. There are seven main chapters, plus and overview, and sections providing to essential resources.
The case studies are informative. The authors clearly know their material, but they don't hype how easy it is to make money using a laptop, which as one who knows what it takes, I find reassuring.
I would have liked to see more case studies, and I'm sure the authors have cautionary anecdotes they might have shared to add pace to what is essentially a step-by-step how-to do-it manual.
Basically, you can trust this book. Follow it and you will get somewhere, maybe not next week, but certainly this year :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a diverse audience,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)There are many, many valid reasons why someone might want to start a business from home. They may want to earn an additional income, they may want to escape the rat race and become their own boss, they may be fed up of the commute to the city every day, they may be disabled, or have caring responsibilities and it makes sense to work from home. Whatever the reason, this book cuts to the chase, taking the reader by the hand through the minefield of working from a lap top at home, safely and with easy to follow guidelines. There is much advice around on entrepreneurship, but little to match this. Well worth reading and, more importantly, implementing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the 21st Century,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)A great book and totally relevant to the age in which we live in, things move at such a pace and the authors have got the book spot on. If you can grasp the concept you have hit the jackpot.
5.0 out of 5 stars A useful tool for internet business beginners,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)One of the problems with so many books about starting and running online businesses is that they assume too much prior knowledge on the part of the reader. In Laptop Entrepreneur, however, the critical basics are explained simply and thoroughly so that even someone entering the online business arena for the first time will understand and feel comfortable with the whole thing. A very useful internet business "starter pack" and well worth reading whatever your level of cyberknowhow.
5.0 out of 5 stars The kick-ass guide to working online,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)Working online isn't as easy as people think, the authors do a great job in advising and being realistic. Although the book says you can make a living anywhere in the world, you don't have to be an expat to benefit from the knowledge imparted here.
What I find really cool is both of the authors are living the life they map out. So many online gurus make money from selling how to make money, the fact these guys apply their internet marketing skills to their business rather than selling hype is to their credit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely useful,
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)`The Laptop Entrepreneur' is an excellent book that clearly and simply explains how to make money on-line. It is ideal for anyone who wants to use the Internet to make money, either in developing their own income or to really effectively market their existing business or products and services. Written by a professional writer and web marketing expert, `Laptop' peels away the mystery of how the Internet works and shows, in seven sections, how to operate on-line. This is done without any confusing techie. language and is ideal for anyone starting out. It lays a firm foundation of knowledge and is crammed with invaluable resources and case studies. It is a must-read for anyone wanting independence - even if they are not, at the moment(!), in the least techie or knowledgeable about the Internet!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good advice for location independent entrepreneurs (or those who want to be),
This review is from: Laptop Entrepreneur: How to Make a Living Anywhere in the World (Paperback)A really useful guide for anyone who wants to liberate themselves from the 9-5 and also from dependence on any employer for their financial security. Cuts through a lot of the jargon and mystique about online marketing with good practical comparisons with real-world businesses - this is really helpful for anyone not sure how to get started, especially if you have any knowledge or experience in marketing or promoting offline products or services. The parallels are not always obvious, but this accessible guide helps you to understand them, and to grasp the potential of the global marketplace.
So much internet marketing advice is full of hype, but this book is down to earth and realistic - no 'money for nothing' promises, just practical ideas and advice. Written by two British expats on the Spanish coast these two guys prove that their approach works, because they are both making a living online in a tough economic climate locally. Some business skills you cannot learn in any university, you have to find people in your field who have achieved success and model what they are doing... this is a good example of that kind of learning, and well recommended for anyone wanting to get started making real money online.
