4.0 out of 5 stars Basic guide for school students
This is a good guide for UK GCSE or AS level ICT students to quickly get to know the basics of Dreamweaver. Resources for the book can be downloaded from the book's web site.
Nothing on CSS or scripting. After a couple of weeks or so you'll be ready to move onto something a bit more substantial.

This book is OK if you want to build a basic website. The written text is easily followed, and while it does a good job, it is very basic, and really only suitable for those with practically no knowledge. It does do what it says on the cover

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book!!, 24 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Dreamweaver MX 2004: Right from the Start (Right from the Start guides) (Paperback)
I bought this book after making the BIG mistake of buying "Dreamweaver MX for Dummies" first!! This book is so clear in its instruction and explanation that within hours I had learned more about the basics of creating a website than eight or so chapters of the 'other book' could teach me. Even when things like button-images for the demonstration website are supplied ready-downloadable, the author still goes on to provide information on suitable editing software that will enable you to create your own should you so wish. It is this "going the extra step" that gives you the feeling that the author really wants you to benefit from the book. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone looking to create their first website on Dreamweaver MX!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start to creating websites, 15 Jun. 2006

Excellent step-by-step self-learning book. You'll understand the basics of Dreamweaver and create a website in just a few hours. You can download Dreamweaver from Macromedia (think now Adobe) free for 30 days while you work through the book. It also takes you through setting up a domain and uploading your site AND makes it really simple. You'll need to find out more about CCS and how to use them but there are plenty of online resources. If you want to learn Dreamweaver but don't want to spend hours on a course this is the book for you. I recommend you work through it twice though, and avoid the frames section!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver, no more dreaming!, 20 Aug. 2005
This review is from: Dreamweaver MX 2004: Right from the Start (Right from the Start guides) (Paperback)
The book was surprising in it's detail about Dreamweaver. I first thought that it'd be difficult to capture the essence on A4, and was relieved to find that this had all the answers.
From being a beginner I now feel well versed in all Dreamweaver aspects.
A great read, hard to put down.
