A subject matter that is not everyones taste but it does cover key accounts and facts on this issue and does in a story type fashion

A comprehensive, all round look at some of Britains top firms, as well as many less well known ones like Villa. Interesting read!

This book was put together by Nick Lowles of Searchlight magazine. Andy was roped in to helping him without knowing it was anything to do with searchlight. A lot of the stuff in this book is lifted word for word from hooligan websites and a lot of it is simply made up. For example it says someone got stabbed at Cardiff v Shrewsbury in the 80s and I was there and have the news reports, no-one got stabbed. Many many parts of this book are made up. Dont buy it and help finance left wing bigots who have called football lads racist thugs for the last 30 years, they despise you. Dont buy it.

The second part of an "A-Z of British hooligan firms" and if you wanted a brief account of all of them then these 2 books are probably what you are looking for. A couple of things I should mention are that 1. They are mostly made up of newspaper articles and 2. A lot of what is said in the book is taken from already published books on hooligans firms (For example Black White and Blue, Men in Black etc) Contrary to what someone said below this book does not describe firms as racists in fact there is a chapter (Under "R") On racism where he mentions mixed race firms. What he does mention is Chelsea's Headhunters links to combat 18 (Already well published) Some Sunderland lads connected to C18 (Again well known and been in the papers) and a mini riot in Derby when Pompy fans clashed with locals in a mixed race area of the city (Again it was reported on the news at the time) So nothing remarkable there. I didnt read a single political comment left or right so maybe he was reading a different book.

Some of the quotes from those involved seem a bit confusing and you do suspect that they have just been taken from a book rather than the author actually speaking to them in person. Manchester rivalries and West Ham are covered in this chapter. The north east rivalry is also covered including the incident near the ferry terminal that left one lad with brain damage. Both sides of the story are shown.

It doesnt go into much detail but overall not bad.
