4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant but not what I expected, 2 Jan 2003
This review is from: Titania's Book of Hours: A Celebration of the Witch's Year (Hardcover)
Firstly I have to comment on the Velvety Hardcover. This has to be one of my loves about Titania's books. I found this to be a well illustrated (the photographs are beautifully done and add colour to an otherwise almost back and white book) and the style is easy to read without the useless jargon. I found the 4 pink pages near the centre of the book especially helpful, as it gave a nice little introduction to herbs without - like i've mentoned - useless facts and long complex sentences that mean nothing to a beginner. I would recommend this book to anyone, even those who practice and are intrested in high magick as opposed to witchcraft/wicca (low magick). The reason i only give this book 4 stars is because i found its mainly a spell book with snippets of information scattered over the pages. Not that this is a bad thing, just that when i bought it i thought it would contain more information rather than spells.

This review is from: Titania's Book of Hours: A Celebration of the Witch's Year (Hardcover)
This is another beautiful book of spells from Titania Hardie, one that complements her earlier book, `Enchanted: Titania's book of white magic', perfectly. With the now-customary velvet cover, uncluttered text and stunning photographs, this is a handsome edition, but it's the clarity of the information contained within it that elevates `Hours' from being a mere coffee-table book. The chapters include: The Cycle of Life, The Witch's Week, Moon Cycles, Solar Sabbats, Lunar Sabbats, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Special Dates, and each one contains interesting references to folk customs as well as descriptions of simple magical greetings and/or spells. As you would expect, their force is towards the light, resulting in a book that is a delight to read and cheery in its aspect.

I am certain that I will return to this book time and again, will definitely be practising many of its spells, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone interested in white magic.

This review is from: Titania's Book of Hours: A Celebration of the Witch's Year (Hardcover)
Its was an ok book. But when I started doing the spells, things in my life started going wrong, lol dont no if maybe I was doing the spells wrong ha ha ha........... The cover of the book is lovely and velvety, it looks the part...... But you need a lot of stuff to become a white witch. So I dont think I will bother, as it would cost me to much,
