5.0 out of 5 stars Just what the thoughtful need, churchgoer or not.
If you have questions, or things you're not so happy about when in church, or wish that there was far more too it all, then this guide is for you. If you have questions, or things you're not so happy about when in church, or wish that there was far more too it all, then this guide is for you. It's written in many short sections so can be dipped into, or read through cover to cover -- either way it's engaging, challenging. The author warns that 'it is not intended for those of a nervous disposition, or those who are easily shocked', but for those who will take the risk the outcome is likely to be enriching and strengthening. It's a very easy book to read, no specialist language, very down-to-earth. If you are a 'religious fundamentalist' it will probably make you furious. Absolutely excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Exploring faith with an open mind, 19 Jan 2009
This review is from: The Thoughtful Guide to Faith (Paperback)
In a market crowded with books exploring the basic beliefs of Christianity this book stands out as a true original. Easy to read, but not simplistic, this serves as an alternative the sort evangelistic tracts which seek to provide the "absolute answers" to some very tricky questions.

A key read for anyone who struggles with faith in the divine; a book which takes seriously questions of faith and doubt, and which starts to probe underneath the certainties of dogma and the often limited interpretations of scripture which are propagated by the Christian mainstream.

You may not always agree with Windross, but he'll certainly open your mind.
