5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids of about 11
I looked for quite a while for a quizz book that would be sutable for ages 10-11, luckily I found it with this one. A good selection of general knowledge and local infulences.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty heavy on Irish history and mythology!
The general knowledge questions are pretty fair for bright and enthusiastic 9-10 year olds ... but there is a large number of very specialised Irish history and mythology questions which are completely unfathomable to the average British family. So, a good book to have in the car on a long journey (we used it travelling to the South of France) but you will need to be able...

This was a chistmas present, among many others, for a 10-11 year old who enjoys quizzes. Unfortunately, the first question she read out to our family gathering stumped everybody, so ... quickly on to the next present!

I got this book because it was locally produced. Full of interesting facts and information - the children, big and small, enjoyed it.

1.0 out of 5 stars A real dumbo didn't think the e book version through, 1 Jan 2012
This review is from: The Whiz Quiz Book: For Children and Grown-up Children (National Parents Council) (Paperback)
We purchased the Kindle e - book version. Guess what - the answers are right at the end which makes using this quizz on Kindle a non - starter. We tend to dip in and out of a quizz - for example 10 minutes at bedtime so you need the answers nthere and then. Scrolling through hundreds of pages on Kindle is a nightmare.

Worse still I cant find contact details to inform the publishers / authors.

Also there are many very specific Irish questions and this is not made clear at the point of purchase.

Avoid.

The questions are good for my 13 year old daughter but 2 out of re 10 questions per section are specifically Irish; my English daughter (and I) have no idea about these and we just leave these out.
