5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
When I first bought this book I wasn't too sure after flicking through it and didn't look at it properly until recently. I have found this to be really informative with simple instructions. The pictures are hand drawn and the patterns are full size. There are ten designs from soft to limbed dolls and instructions for a number of different hairstyles. The writer who is...

I was so disappointed in this book; the only photo you'll find to show you what you're aiming for is that on the cover. As a keen knitter/ sewer, I find photos in books essential, both to inspire you in the first place, and then to show you what you're aiming for.
I haven't yet made a doll from this book - the instructions,...

A good book fo beginners, with doll body patterns and clothing.
Also good as a general resource book even for dollmakers who have experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely, charming, well written, well illustrated book., 31 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Making Waldorf Dolls (Crafts and Family Activities) (Paperback)
This is a lovely, well written, well illustrated and extremely detailed book.
It takes you step by step through the process to enable the reader to make a variety
of different dolls, begining with extremely simple designs and progressing to the more
complex, still relatively easy to make though. Super also, as it has the actual size patterns
that just need to be traced and you can begin. Chapter 2, which is all about hair and how to do
the different types, with really clear line drawings of lots of different styles/ types of hair.
Someone has commented on another review that there are no photographs inside the book
but the line drawings with the very clear instructions, actually make, in my opinion a better
format for showing clearly and exactly 'how to'.
All in all I am delighted with my purchase.

This review is from: Making Waldorf Dolls (Crafts and Family Activities) (Paperback)
I love this book. This book is great for anyone making a Waldorf doll for the first time. Both the written instructions and the simple illustrations guide the first time doll maker step by step. I've made two dolls so far and I suspect there will be many more. Probably the only book I'll need.
