This review is from: The Book of the Deltics (Hardcover)
This is a really excellent book about the Deltic locomotive and covers every member of the class in good detail. There have been quite a few books written about this iconic class but his book manages to take a fresh look at the class. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Of the Deltics, 4 Aug. 2010

This review is from: The Book of the Deltics (Hardcover)
Whilst I have read many books on the Deltics and seen many pictures of them, this book takes in a new approach of the class, from early days, right through to 2008.

We go through inception, to development, to arguments over styling to, in service, livery variations and then to a post BR analysis. The book finishes off with an indivdual class member description giving repair schedules, and some very rare pictures indeed.

The book is well written and although the livery arguments seem to drag a bit, the text is an enjoyable read and frankly well worth the money, especially if you already have The Deltic Years.
