5.0 out of 5 stars Appealing Nostalgia, 19 Mar. 2010
This review is from: Magic in My Pocket (Paperback)
I read these stories as a little girl, and found my recent copy n a charity shop. I am a TA and read the first Tim Rabbit story to a class of streetwise 7/8 year olds yesterday : they were charmed!
I am so thrilled, for me and more for them. One little girl wanted to own the book which is why i checked on Amazon that it is still available. Boys listened attentively- a rarity. Oh joy!

A feast for the senses! no de-sensitising here. Just pure childhood joy, innocence and imaginative gorgeousness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every teacher should have a copy!!, 13 Mar. 2010
This review is from: Magic in My Pocket (Paperback)
A wonderful collection of short stories.Varied lengths, varied subjects, from the mysterious to the practical. Contains great examples of descriptive prose...bite size chunks of delicious material..brilliant as a resource for Primary Literacy and history! Also contains seasonal stories..Easter etc...Highly recommended for parents ( let them choose their own bedtime story!) and teachers alike. Would also make a great gift for a hospitalised or sick child ( 10+) due to the variety in length and subject of stories. indeed for any child who enjoys well-characterised stories. Magic in your pocket indeed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect bedtime stories, 22 Jan. 2008
Perfect for anyone wishing to share magical reading experiences with young children. The stories are enchanting, beautifully told and evokative of a time where childhood was magical. If you love the countryside and love beautifully written, well crafted stories look no further.
A childhood classic to treasure.
