This review is from: Me 262, Volume Three: 3 (Hardcover)
Although this is vol. 3 - you do not need to buy them all. This volume deals fully with the me 262 night fighter and has everything you need to know at a bargain price with cutaways and colour profiles.

It also follows the single seater 262 from late 1944 to early 1945 with more colour profiles.

If you are interested in the me262 buy this book!!! at about 10 you'd be mad not too.

When you read books such as this you realise what trouble the British Mosquito was and how much effort the Germans diverted to stop this one aircraft - I think that the me262 was never going to make a long term difference in controlling the sky, even in large numbers, but it may have finally given the Germans an aircraft to beat the Mosquito - it would have taken the most advance aircraft in the world to best a plane made from wood to do it.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic photo's, well researched, 25 May 2011
This review is from: Me 262, Volume Three: 3 (Hardcover)
I first bought volume 3 as i had read it contained alot of information on the nightfighter varients of the ME 262 and I didn't have alot of interest in the day fighter and bomber versions, that was until i opened this beautifully presented book. I was blown away by the fantastic photo's of me 262's in every possible pose from factory production lines to forward dispersals on the autobann's. I had also exspected this book to be a bit "Dry" however the authors have given a detailed day by day account of the me 262 in combat with accounts from the luftwaffe pilots as well as the allied pilots who were shot down by the "swallow" and survived as well as the allied pilots who shot down swallow's (some pilots having shot down two me 262's). The amount of photo's is astounding, infact i ordered volume 2 after realising just how well written and researched these books are and i wasn't disapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Me262 Volume 3 (Luftwaffe Classics), 24 Jun 2011
This review is from: Me 262, Volume Three: 3 (Hardcover)
Quite possibly the most comprehensive series of books that unpack the legend that is Messerschmitt Me 262 and its variants.
vol 3 deals specifically with the night-fighter variants and if you are a fan of this aircraft then this book and perhaps the others in the series are essential acquisitions.
The quality of illustration, with superb line drawings by cutaway legend Arthur Bentley, the authority of writing apparent in the authors subject knowledge and technical depth are unmatched.
highly recommended.
