I bought this book today (12/08/03) and already I have read the first 57 pages. An excellent read with well layed out key points and graphs. The only thing that puts me remotly off is the colout. All the way through there is red backgrounds with black and white images. If it had of been in full colour it would have recieved 5 stars - but over all an excellent purchase and read!

The text book has everything in it. The units are not in a particular order which makes it sometimes difficult to use with students. There is, however, good cross referencing between units which makes up for the apparent disjointedness.
Individual units are very well written and include very useful devices such as Summary and Key Terms with good, clear explanations. Questions in the units start easy and progress in difficulty towards the end of the unit. Graphs, diagrams and pictures are clear, useful and appropriate. The Applied Economics section and the Data Question are especially good for bringing out the meaning of the topic studied.
The book sets out to be a combined text book and work book - it succeeds.

This book actually makes Economics interesting for those new to the subject, instead of burying you in just theory it has relevant applied sections. Also well set out key terms and summaries which also make it useful in revision.
