This review is from: The Tree of Life and the Holy Grail: Ancient and Modern Spiritual Paths and the Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau (Paperback)The Tree of Life and the Holy Grail (Ancient and Modern Spiritual Paths and the Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau), by Sylvia Francke, Temple Lodge Press 2007.
The vast success of The Holy Blood & Holy Grail chronicles followed by The Da Vinci Code is well-known to a huge majority of people following all the media fragments.
That so many millions of readers were keen to pursue some hitherto unheard of secret quest surely ~ speaks for itself? Searching indeed for something ~ perhaps they are feeling vaguely uncomfortable or else, painfully dissatisfied ~ but, with what? Could it be that there is a growing lack of respect for most of today's `systems', actually confirming age old predictions of the likely chaos of a breakdown, in Western Society?
This failure of respect for anything, or anyone ~ wherever one looks ~ can now be traced, running through many Institutions, and most European politicians. Already it is slowly seeping through underlying substructures in Society like a cancer, ~ the real danger is that we are developing a gnawing lack of respect following the realisation of such growing instability, not least and in particular ~ in ourselves, as well as our culture?
Such issues have been highlighted recently through the popularity and combination of both these most unusual books, yet they are grossly satirical ~ since they accentuate the problem without providing any solutions! Raising far more questions than answers, this is a very clever way indeed for their creators to "earn" ~ vast fortunes!
Sylvia Francke in her revised version of: The Tree of Life and The Holy Grail actually puts her finger on it, when she refers to someone in a bookshop pointing to one of the books, overheard as saying: "I was a Christian before I read that, now I don't believe in anything."
As Sylvia herself has said:
the books that were mentioned at the beginning (of this review) approach the Mystery of Jesus from the point of view in which we find ourselves at the turn of the 20th and 21st Centuries. But could their popularity stem from the fact that people are searching for something which has been hidden for many centuries and which is now ready to reappear? The human intellect is established. Now not only the heads but, for many, the resonating hearts of human beings are eager to understand. Can we perhaps see the materialism of these books as a logical step in our progress, as the dark before the dawn?
Then she goes forth to tackle the issues head on, as far as she can, searching to find most immensely important answers, in her endeavour to solve this monumental problem.
For those unfamiliar with the chronicles it is impossible to summarise them in a few pages. This intriguing saga of ancient myths and legends over the centuries, fanning out from the Middle East across Europe is itself both convoluted, yet riveting. Just like a vast chess game there are Kings and Queens, with Bishops and castles, connected together over the centuries, where Knights, princesses and their black and white pawns get involved with secret societies ~ centred around Paris and the Languedoc, in France.
Three times a solicitor friend of mine tried persuading me to buy The Holy Blood & Holy Grail: "It will change your life!" he said. Eventually I bought a copy and, ~ it did!
Sylvia begins not altogether surprisingly, at the beginning of the saga, threading her way through the maze of well-documented events within a vast labyrinth ~ to focus on Sauniere the Priest at Rennes-le-Chateau in the Languedoc, his newly acquired wealth and his work, first brought to the attention of the public by Henry Lincoln in BBC films.
She brings to bear her professionalism as a drama teacher ~ for real life drama it is, indeed ~ but largely through the eyes of her own Teacher and mentor, Rudolf Steiner, ~ the originator of Anthroposophy, expressing a point of view of the new esoteric Christianity, whilst she still follows her life-time study of ancient wisdom, but most carefully anchored through both their scientific approaches.
Steiner has described Anthroposophy as a continuation of Esoteric Christianity in a new form. His work is well-known and respected particularly in esoteric circles, since he was a clairvoyant; yet, this has had a far reaching effect ~ in terms of a wider and deeper understanding of spirituality, as he approaches it from a much more scientific viewpoint. Not forgetting that Steiner lived during the early part of the last century, at the infancy of what is today's: science's investigative powers. Much has happened since.
What then was Sauniere the priest searching for and what if anything did he actually find? Was it material or even spiritual `wealth' ~ or possibly, the secret of a longer life?
She regales the history of The Knights Templars, The Priory of Sion and in particular, the underlying Rosicrucian impulse, as an alternative stream to conventional religions. Many notable characters are involved such as Rollo The Viking, an ancestor of the Sinclairs (St. Clairs) of Rosslyn who are still nurturing a masonic order ~ and William The Conqueror whose forebears were Dukes and Counts of Normandy, pointing us back towards France.
Even Francis Bacon, the founder philosopher of modern science gets a mention. Then there is the mysterious Cagliostro referred to by Steiner, who attempted to influence occult Masonry in London, Russia and the Hague to a higher stage but unsuccessfully. He eventually succeeded in a Lodge at Lyons forming an occult Masonic Lodge of Philalethes out of a group of local Masons which later, may have been visited by Sauniere, known to have been interested in the Rite of Memphis and Misraim, and the Order of the Rose-Croix of the Temple and the Grail. This was where Cagliostro was concerned to introduce teachings about The Philosophers Stone, alternative healing methods and `Knowing The Pentagram', so allowing physical death to become of small importance. Concepts likely to have attracted Sauniere since they could lead to longevity.
How Steiner predicts the hidden forces and the history of the creation of the cosmos is fully explained in terms of the formative processes of Warmth, Light, Chemical and Life ethers ~ where the chemical tone ether is the living, breathing substance of the earth itself. This she calls the science of the Grail ~ perhaps Sylvia is presenting here Steiner's premonition of the same forces which themselves may lie hidden and are still awaiting a full decode ~ in the underlying and mysterious workings of our DNA? She highlights this idea in the colour photos, following page 116 in her book, of The Apprentice Pillar at Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh in Scotland showing refined helical workings in the ancient stone pillars, compared with models by Mark Curtis of the images of DNA.
Sylvia elaborates the details of how these mysterious `streams' have passed into and out of the wrong hands, over the centuries. Where are we now, she asks? The true Grail knowledge, The Tree of Life and The Holy Grail is then more fully explained in a metaphysical context. She tells us that this is the most ancient life-line of energetic forces which ray up and down from the planets, interacting with all of us, as human beings.
Bringing matters up to date since Steiner, Sylvia re-focuses our attention on the mysterious document mentioned in The Holy Blood & Holy Grail ~ called Le Serpent Rouge (The Red Serpent), originally deposited in a Paris library. Various attempts have been made to decode the contents, unsuccessfully. A most enigmatic `quatrain' headed Virgo (one of the astrological signs referred to) contains the following statement:
There is the seventh sentence which a hand has traced; `DELIVER ME OUT OF THE MIRE, AND LET ME NOT SINK. Two times I.S embalming and embalmed'.
Where is the corresponding sentence? It can be `traced', none other than to: The Return of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (ACD) and his teachings, first published in 1994, through `the hand' of Grace Cooke the well known medium and clairvoyant, founder of The White Eagle Lodge.
On page 139 in that book there is recorded the following communication through Grace Cooke by `automatic writing' (the seventh sentence is in italics) which reads as follows:
` ... Now I must describe to you a vision. I have to indicate to you the numbers 3 and 9, which are of very great importance: 3 x 3 = 9. There is the entrance to a cavern. On the dark rocks shines the six-pointed star. On the floor a sword in its scabbard. A serpent entwined about a staff. The creature speaks: Man has descended through his own self-will into THE MIRE. He has now to break loose from his circle of sorrow and darkness. Of his own freewill he `lost' his paradise, and he will not regain it save by his own will and by an immense effort.' [This vision is identifiable with: L'hiver ou Le DÉLUGE, (1660-1664) Toile, by Poussin. Collection de Louix XIV].'
`Two times I.S embalming and embalmed' since it reflects: IS.IS ~ most probably points us towards the consort of OSIRIS who was known as the goddess ISIS, in early Egyptian
history. In the letter/number terms of `gematria' I (=5) + S (=18) = 23, x 2 = 46 = IS.IS, same as the count of RING (17 + 9 + 13 + 7) = 46. Reminiscent of "The RING of TRUTH" referred to by ACD in his messages where TRUTH =83 = ELIXIR = THE GOLD RING = 83.
NOTE: How this "message" is: "Two times (I.S =) 2", analogous to: "3 x 3", in ACD's?
Later and perhaps intuitively, she refers to the work of Walter Bühler, reprinted in the Journal of Anthroposophical Medicine (Vol. 3, 1994) with the author's permission. Apparently the Bravais brothers in Paris measured the divergence of the angles in hundred's of plants at the Sorbonne in Paris ~ relating them to 137º30'48", appearing, on the face of it, to be a `random' result. Remarkably however, the model template or blueprint reproduced on page 161 of her book, links precisely the symmetrical curved path of Venus (over an 8 year period) with the pattern of a sunflower and finally: to the refraction of the sun's rays on a droplet of water ~
where the colourful rainbow sphere reflections to be seen in the fanlike colour cone, accurately represent deviations which correspond to the Golden Section, otherwise related to the Fibonacci series in pentagonal geometry and Euclidean mathematics.
Sylvia not content however, later obtains confirmation; on the following page she quotes:
At a first glance there is a rigorous mathematical and geometric correspondence between the pentagon, 137º and the 42º referred to [= a 180º angle, relating to the Sun's rays in the drawing] reflecting a unification between the geometry of the pentagon: (equal to The Golden Meanon the one hand and on the other, the electromagnetic waveforms emanating from the sun; these are `sine' and `cosine' waves.
More importantly, it has since transpired that: the angle referred to as: 137.5º ~ correctly reflects and so corresponds to The Observable Fine Structure Constant well-known to physicists and already identified as ~1/137, by Prof Richard Feynman: said to be the greatest physicist in the last century. His expositions on this subject are clearly expressed in Quantum ElectroDynamics (QED).
Put another way ~ the fanlike colour cone identified by Walter Bühler establishes the basis of the `table' of the curve of a dynamic `cone', moving along a Time Line: c (12 = clockface) which is relative to the harmonics of the speed of light where: c² = 144, originally conceived by Minkowski (Einstein's teacher) in his diagrams of SpaceTime, now recognisable currently by physicists, in a possible physics of immortality according to Prof Frank Tipler ~ to what may be a future-endless worldline, pointing towards the Sun.
This curve represents the history of an object (or particle) and is called a worldline, moving along the light ray of the worldline, defining past light cones between temporal and spatial distances and inclined at less than 45º, off the vertical. The light which goes out from a point in space is a light cone, where boundaries of all SpaceTime points which can send signals back and forth are represented by past and future light cones.
Francis Bacon called this: `Action At A Distance' ~ it is the `finger-post' towards what may become the future-endless worldline, having no end point in SpaceTime by definition. Scientifically speaking, Sylvia's `thought experiment' and diagrams highlight the significance of these relationships, pointing us directly to the Key, `fulcrum' or hitherto missing Portal ~ between electromagnetic waves emanating from the Sun and the creation of microscopic matter, via such constants of proportionality (Hidden Harmonics ~ the H-H Factor(tm)) which right now ~ are hereby, miraculously ~ confirmed!
Leading us inevitably to the several relationships corresponding to those forms of energy which when taken together, refer to our DNA.
Hence, ~ the strongest possibilities of an extension to our life force.
She tidies up the situation by providing more details in the several Appendices, dealing for instance with Mani's earlier teachings, The Spiritual hierarchies described by Rudolf Steiner and finally, The Science of The Grail in terms of alternate energy and healing processes.
In her revolutionary findings however, Sylvia finally sums up her conclusions in the light of Steiner's teachings, where the Key, upshot of her book allows her prescience to predict:
We need no bloodline, no United Europe, or united anything else that has been imposed externally. For although we have been isolated from the spiritual world since the Fall we can now find our way back as individual human beings, by resonating to the Christ event of two thousand years ago as a personal inner experience (my italics).
In this way we form a different `community' built according to the impulses of individuals interacting through common humanity. We can then begin to create foundations for the New Heaven and Earth which will be the next incarnation of this earth planet ~ the New Jerusalem.
For anyone interested in spiritual science, is a student of the paranormal or who simply wants to keep up to date with modern thinking ~ this book is compulsive reading. Time to change the paradigm ~ new readers will not be disappointed!
