5.0 out of 5 stars Moving Meditation on Memory and Nostalgia, 12 Sep 2007
This review is from: The House I Once Called Home: A Photographic Memoir with Verse (Hardcover)
I'm not sure what book Hayley from London is reviewing below but its certainly not this one. This is a photographic essay by Duane Michals in which he returns to the home he was brought up in in Pennsylvania which is now empty and derelict. He takes images in the style of images that were taken there decades ago when he was a young man to emphasise the passing of time and its effects; he remembers family members and incidents from the past and his own upbringing. Complemented with his own poetry, this is moving material indeed.
