I just received my copy of this book a few hours ago & haven't put it down since !!! Its informative as well as a light hearted look at the history of The World Cup. The drawings of the players are instantly recognisible especially from recent World Cups. Some of the goals have been recreated in diagram form & some of the most memorable moments have also been recreated in the drawings, even some of those that i had forgotten about!
All in all, this is a different way at looking at the World Cup over the years & the drawings give it a light hearted perspective so you can learn the facts but laugh at the same time. For someone like me,who doesn't like reading alot but much prefers visuals then this is perfect. Ideal as a present or for your own personal library. You & your friends will not be able to put this down & i guarantee you'll be reminiscing about all those moments captured in this book & maybe the ones that were left out.For the price, this is the cheapest i've seen it anywhere. Hardback & over 200 pages i recommend this very highly.

I read other books on the history of the World Cup and some of its darker moments and wanted a different change of pace in time for the 2010 tournament. I discovered this fun book which has been developed by the very talented Argentinian artist German Aczel. It chronicles every tournament since it inception back in 1930. Fun drawings complement each tournament and bring a new dimension to the traditional books on the history of the World Cup. I would definitely encourage all football fans to buy this book (even though the 2010 World Cup is now in the history books). Maybe German will release this book with an update on this years tournament in 2014, in time for the tournament in Brazil!
