1.0 out of 5 stars Just hit them harder, 18 Nov. 2013
By
This review is from: No Greater Joy Volume One: 1 (Paperback)
"It is sometimes true that mothers' spankings are not at all painful. If your spankings are too light to gain his respect, an increase in intensity might be more persuasive."

Any book that contains those words, should not be allowed to be sold in the civilised world.
That is just one example of many situations in this book, where you just beat your child into submission.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is incitement to child abuse, 15 May 2006
This review is from: No Greater Joy Volume One: 1 (Paperback)
Basically this book advocates child abuse. If you want to abuse your kids, buy it. But make sure your neighbours don't see or hear you using the techniques it advocates, because if they do and they're right-thinking people, they'll shop you to Social Services before you can say "God wants me to hit you". And serve you right.

Jeez, I can't believe publisher's print this sort of dangerous rubbish. There are lots of stupid people out there who might actually be influenced by it. Scarey.

1.0 out of 5 stars Christian Sadism?, 10 Jun. 2006

Prof D. F. Pocock (Sussex UK) - See all my reviews

This review is from: No Greater Joy Volume One: 1 (Paperback)
This is particularly nasty specimen of U.S evangelical Christianity. Its subject is physical punishment for children. For example, advice on what kind of instrument is most suitable for beating a baby under one year of age. As is their custom the authors' perversion is 'supported' by Biblical texts.
