V B 12 the great misdiagnosis
on 12 October 2012
I purchased this book after a friend was diagnosed with Pernicious anaemia - what an eye opener. Having suffered with a gastric problem for years and suffering from some of the symptoms mentioned I have started taking the B12 time release tablet and feel better than I have for years. I have now ordered the B12 lozenge Methyl B12 1000 mg but will be seeing GP to request the B12 tests although looking at the NHS web site on B12 deficiency I do not hold out much hope of getting assistance as they are stating up to 200 on your reading is "normal" the book is stating the opposite, you need to get this book if you have any health problems that you cannot explain or find hard to accept. This book is for all age groups and one for every person interested in getting better from aches, pains, sudden anxiety feelings being put down to old age or menopause - Lord how often I have had that one thrown at me! You will be horrified, like me at the illnesses covered, at the lack of understanding by the medical profession of this simple test, the Boots health web site is better informed than the NHS web site if you do a search on B12 deficiency but the book is a must for every household. I have found this more interesting than "Shades of Gray" which is still untouched, this I cannot put down and no I am not a hypochondriac but do believe in helping yourself as no one else will. I just wish I had read this when my mother started showing signs of dementia then diagnosed as Alzheimers - I will always wonder if the B12 would have helped lessen some of the symptoms. Unfortunately lack of B12 can be very debilitating and in some case fatal or you could end up permanently and substatially disabled. I cannot praise this book enough, I am only sorry my friend had to get to such a state to bring this to my notice. Thankfully she was diagnosed before any serious permanent damage.
