4.0 out of 5 stars NHB Takedowns
Would help slightly if pictures were in colour, but isn't essential. Lots of pictures demonstrating each move, allowing it to be studied and practised easily. Very informative, the beggining section on stances and set ups are very useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the price
Mark Hatmaker shows that he has extensive knowledge of the NHB game. I Found this to be a very informative book. The picture are in black & white and could have been clearer but for the price I guess you can't complain. I was able to follow the instuction in the book quite well but I have a feeling that this was mainly due to the fact that I know what he was talking...

In the end a very informative and concise book, that teaches you how to takedown your oponent and gain the advantage. Its contents will be very useful for self defense aswell.

Well worth the buy and am already buying another book by the same person, and looking at others (savage strikes and killer subbmissions).

An amazing no nonsence approach to learning skills, i love mark hatmakers approach to writing books where it is more instructional photos and from different angles too, which gives you a better understanding of the drills being performed.

because of his style i went on to buy at least another 5 of his books and never dissapointed

I was able to follow the instuction in the book quite well but I have a feeling that this was mainly due to the fact that I know what he was talking about. The complete biginner may have some trouble in following some of the steps in this book. Overall a good addition to any MMA library.

This book is Brillant the as are all Mark Hatmaker books on NHB fighting.

I dont mind the pics in black & white makes book less expensive. And the pics are very clear. The techniques and combinations are incredible. Ignore any petty retarded remarks anyone makes to put this book or any of Mark Hatmaker books. Learn how to destroy opponents with real techniques that work. Learn all the fighting ranges strikes grappling subbmissions takedowns locks etc. Buy the entire collection & be a complete Martial Artist.

Hatmaker's book is one of a series of excellent books on different aspects of the NHB, MMA fight game which has many areas which are good for street defence. His range and depth of understanding shines through on each page. I love his books and have incorporated much of his insight into my own training.
