This review is from: Milltown Mischief: True Tales of Daring and Adventure in Victorian Bolton (Paperback)
If you have lived in or have any connection to Bolton, this is the book to read. Satanic Mills, I remember as a lad, unfortunately long demolished, are brought to life in a truly memorable way. A golden era of simple and uncomplicated life as a child before the advent of an allegedly more caring society. In some respects, an idyllic existence. No foreigners, no street robberies, no east Europeans flogging our metal, no kebab shop owners abusing our kids, no Romanians begging in the town centre then or now? I know which way I would have it.....
