A good variety of linked Fishing stories,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fishing Forever (Paperback)
I read this book quite by chance but I was pleasantly surprised when I did. I liked the way the characters kept fishing right through the book, even when they get older. Everything was very well described and I could picture it all in my mind. It was also different to read a book based on Swindon and the surrounding area. I liked the boy who they met whilst fishing one day, it made me feel weird the way he was described and the way Dave and Ken talked about him. When they went back to see if he was still there, was a nice touch. There were a good variety of stories and I liked the way they all joined together. I would recommend it to 10-14 years old. A good book I enjoyed reading. Thomas Jellis

Happy memories,

I was recommended to read Fishing Forever by a friend. It is a wonderful collection of tales of two friends with a shared passion for adventure and fishing. The writing style is easy to read, so it is ideal for older children and teenagers with an interest in fishing; and the content gently reminds you of the days of your own youth, when you could go off on adventures in the countryside, without adults to keep check on you, and return home unharmed. For this reason, I think this book would also be enjoyed by anyone aged 40 + who had a semi-rural upbringing or an interest in fishing which stemmed from their childhood. I have never fished before, but this book has helped me understand the attraction of it, especially to young people seeking adventure away from video games.Thoroughly recommended! |
