This is an A4 size book. It is printed in gloss paper and is a fine read. It gives the history of shipbreaking at Cairn Ryan which is near Stranraer in southern Scotland. The carriers Centaur, Eagle and Ark Royal were broken up there as were some Russian submarines. The author goes into fine detail on ammunition disposal and the destruction of U-Boats at the end of WW2. The text is ably supported by historical documents and narratives from some of the people who were there. This is a very necessary book if you are a naval historian and have an interest in specific wartime and post war events. - Recommended

A great historical view backed up by good photos, culminating in a great record of the importance of Cairnryan as a military port.
