Has some useful info and my technique/attitude has improved through reading this book. Could have been better with an easier layout and maybe a section dedicated to the rules.

Pearls on every page. My recommendation is to start with this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Learn squash from a slim version of Ron Jeremy, 7 Aug 2004
This review is from: Ian McKenzie's Squash Skills (Paperback)
This fine book takes you from beginner level to advanced tactical play for the bargain price of ten pounds. Squash is a great way of becoming fit quickly and a great stress reliever that doesn't have to depend on fickle British weather. Your guide through photographs and text is a serious looking New Zealander with a moustache, who looks like a slimmed down version of Ron Jeremy, the notorious porn star. I love this book but don't expect to learn how to play this game properly without also receiving some coaching.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little classic, 4 Dec 2012
This review is from: Ian McKenzie's Squash Skills (Paperback)
This was recommended to me as a little classic. I was put off a bit because it is rather old, but it turned out to be good advice. Everything in it relates to practical experience on how you can improve your shots and skills, and you will never run out of ideas to improve your game. A book you can go back to again and again. I would think a must for any coach, as the foundation principles are re-inforced again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and helpful for all players, 28 Nov 2012
This review is from: Ian McKenzie's Squash Skills (Paperback)
This book is written by someone who has operated at an elite level within Squash but it provides an accessible explanation to players of all levels on how to improve their game. Well worth the money for anyone trying to develop their game but not sure how to go about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and some good tips, 2 Dec 2011
This review is from: Ian McKenzie's Squash Skills (Paperback)
It's an interesting book, with some good tips.
I bought it as a gift for a colleague, but it's worth noting this book is illustrated in black & white, no doubt because it was first printed in 1986, meaning the person I bought it for is younger than the book :-)
