This book follows the layout of the Instant HTML book in that it is well organized, easy to follow, and contains everything the beginner would want to know. Experienced and professional developers will appreciate how easy this book is to follow and how simple it is to find the information he/she is seeking. Occassionally, I would find a typo or an inaccuracy as to which new properties Netscape did or did not support. Some topics could use more extensive examples and some more elaboration. For example, disabling signed scripts is discussed so that developers can take advantage of some really nifty properties of "pop-up" browsers, but no where is it discussed how to actually "sign" a script so that the intended audience doesn't have to go through a lengthy editing process to view your web page. Overall, this is the best Dynamic HTML book for Netscape I have ever seen, but keep a couple more on your shelf (especially a JavaScript book) just to cover all your bases.

This book is very good for DHTML! Lots of screenshots and examples of how things work. Takes you through Layers, CSS's, the object model of the browser, moving elements of a page, changing all kinds of elements through use of DHTML, remember that this is a reference book, not meant for HTML beginners, and a knowledge of programming might help, but isn't necessary, because of the indepth examples. For DHTML it is the only book you'll ever need, paired with the internet explorer edition you'll have perfect pages with DHTML.

If you want to make your web pages interactive, this is the book for you! Alex and Chris take you through DHTML step by step, and show you how to use the power behind DHTML. Forget all of the other new web programming languages, DHTML is the way to go, and "Instant Netscape Dynamic HTML : Nc4 Edition" is the way to go.
