This book is absolutely dire. The author's use of language is tiresome, rambling and sycophantic and quite cringe-worthy in places. It has a few interesting facts here and there but much of it is just the author's speculation. This book just really, really annoyed me.
I suggest you spend your money on something more worthwhile, like one of Mitchell's albums.

I found it interesting to get background details on Joni's life and loves but this book was far too keen to berate any of her critics. It is quite thorough but obviously not up to date. Some of the prose is a bit 'leaden' but hey! I'm a fan and I can forgive that because I felt I understood the source of her inspiration much better after reading it. I often put on a few tracks after reading a chapter or so just to appreciate them again. More photos would have been nice too.
