5.0 out of 5 stars "The Dead" comes to life, 3 April 2010
This review is from: The Dead (Ireland into Film) (Paperback)
As a film, "The Dead" is James Joyce by the Huston family (father, son and daughter) along with the elite of a wonderful generation of Irish actors/actresses. Beautiful to watch, a musical joy to listen to, a wholeness of solid pleasure. Kevin Barry's study of literature-to film, his references to versions by Rossellini and Woody Allen, his deep knowledge of the story AND the film make this book an indispensable guide both to Joyce's original and Huston's sensitive adaptation.
