1.0 out of 5 stars Another Thai book
Not the best Thai massage book on the market, there is nothing in it you don't know if you read others before.

This review is from: Thai Massage Manual (Paperback)
This book provides a through and enjoyable description of thai massage, preceded by an introduction of the role of massage in thai culture and philosophy and its potential roles in the western world. The description of massage techniques is very rational and is accompanied by a clear anatomical description of the muscles and bones involved, according to western standards, and of the 'energy channels', according to thai medicine. My personal interest was motivated by the original description of muscles and bones in the moving body. The book could be interesting and useful for physiotherapy students and teachers, as an alternative and fun perspective to look at the skeletalmuscular system. The author is a european woman, with extensive experience on thai massage and a rare ability to transfer her knowledge of eastern philosophical perspective to the western reader.
