i wanted a book to inspire my 13 year old as she wants to be an architect. I wanted some detail but mainly i wanted great pictures of innovative designs.

This is what i got. The book now lives on our coffee table because whenever i put it away someone gets it out again. It has great colour pictures of some of the most inventive architecture in Britain as well as plenty of detail for those who want to know more. It certainly did its job of inspiring my daughter without overloading her with technical detail.

A full fledged architect might want more from a text book, but this isnt a text book, its a compilation of great architectural achievements, some built, some yet to be built. From technical design to concrete structure (no pun intended) you will be able to see the building's progression.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in architecture, either professionally or purely as a hobby. 240 pages, virtually every one has between 1 and half a dozen colour pictures on it. A great inspiration for all.
