Of course, this is Mr. Protz' personal choices for the 500 Best Pubs, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Unfortunately it's such a pretty little edition(hard cover) that while it's good for reference, a paperback edition would be better suited for slipping in the glove box or golf bag. Mr. Protz also takes us to Ireland, Belgium, France, & Czechoslovakia, plus gives a listing of pubs which have made the GBG forever. I think this is one of the few beer/pub books I have which I've read in less than a month. I highly recommend this, especially as it is the best of the best.

Bought this for my Ale loving partner for Christmas and it helped us plan a lovely Bank Holiday after New Years. The pub we went to had a nice atmosphere and the food was reasonably priced and really good with generous portions! Well worth a look, especially at the bargain price I got it at!
