4.0 out of 5 stars Not just for adrenaline junkies
Although published in 2008, still very useful for incorporating adventurous activities into your travels. It has enough photos to keep you inspired and each activity is graded using a star ratings system in terms of: physical, psychological, skill required and WOW factor. 3.0 out of 5 stars good but brief
its good for giving you ideas if you have no idea whats out there and want cool stuff to do. it's very brief so dont buy it if you want a good chunk of info on a particular 'adventure'.

This review is from: Rough Guide Ultimate Adventures: A Rough Guide to Adventure Travel (Paperback)
Although published in 2008, still very useful for incorporating adventurous activities into your travels. It has enough photos to keep you inspired and each activity is graded using a star ratings system in terms of: physical, psychological, skill required and WOW factor. Activities covered: canoeing, canyoneering, caving, climbing and mountaineering, diving, dogsledding, hiking and trekking, horseback riding, cycling and mountain biking, rafting, sea kayaking, skiing, surfing, windsurfing, wildlife viewing and safaris. There's also a handy travel calendar in the index. I'm a big fan of these types of books, and as a novice climber I find this book to be the most accessible. Before planning any of the trips you will need to do further research, as the information covered here is limited.

Chapters:
USA AND CANADA
LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
EUROPE
AFRICA
AUSTRAILIA AND OCEANIA
THE POLAR REGIONS

Worth getting if you can find it for under a fiver like I did.
