5.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction
I agree with one reviewer's comments on the "clinical" writing style of the book. There's a somewhat impersonal, managemential voice to the book, and the constant, dogmatic "NLP is the answer to everything" tone ingratiates at times.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to NLP
This is a useful introduction to NLP. Unfortunately, there's too much introduction and not enough application of the actual techniques involved - most of the audiobook is about how wonderful NLP will be when you learn it, not enough is instruction and exercises. Perhaps this is due to the way that the audiobook has been abridged.
However, the exercises themselves are...

5.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction, 30 Jun. 1999

I agree with one reviewer's comments on the "clinical" writing style of the book. There's a somewhat impersonal, managemential voice to the book, and the constant, dogmatic "NLP is the answer to everything" tone ingratiates at times.
But, once you get past the style, this is a great introduction to NLP. The ideas are clearly, concisely explained and laid out in an organized fashion with plenty of headings. Like a textbook, there are 43 meaningful exercises here that lead you through all the concepts presented. I looked over quite a few NLP books before this one. This is simply the most practical, organized, learnable really, intro to NLP I've seen. Hopefully, a more personal version can be written someday.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book, 28 Nov. 1999

If its an understanding of NLP you're after, and the chance to practice some exercises, easily and clearly explained in plain english, then this is the book for you. I knew nothing of NLP, and after reading this book was inspired enough to go to a seminar on the subject. Now, some six months later, I am looking into taking a practitioner course. If you want enough info to make a valued decision, without being baffled by lots of technical stuff, buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This NLP book is fantastic, inspiring and simple!, 20 Oct. 2002
This review is from: NLP: The New Technology of Achievement (Paperback)
A book I have not once regretted buying, exciting and entertaininly written, it makes me want to jump out of my chair and face the world!
The book is constructed with a set of 43 liberating exercises and some very imaginative variations to each exercise, and at the end of the book is 21 day course inclusive with the book, each day something new for you to practice and incorporate into your everyday life, really uplifting!!!
The layout and text are relaxing on the eyes, and the authors do a great job making every sentence count – nothing’s wasted
Other NLP books I have read are have been written from a scientific approach, this one is not, NLP is supposed to be FUN!, and this book does just that.

This book is probably my fifth book on NLP and never before have I met one that conveyed the spirit of NLP with such clarity, power and precision. It is an entertaining read, always giving you a break from technicalities. Just make sure you do the excersises as you go along. Thumbs up to the authors. Enjoy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A PROGRAM THAT WORKS!, 3 July 1998
By A Customer
This a hardcore NLP Teaching book that is very easy to read and even more importantly, to use. Also, unlike the self-promoting Anthony Robbins, you won't be inundated with advertising and fluff. This is a No-Nonsense book that will get you results, and I mean, rapid results!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book to understand NLP concepts and practices, 6 May 2001
By
This review is from: NLP: The New Technology of Achievement (Paperback)
This book is an exciting one to read - filled with not only sound explanations of the concepts and psychology of NLP, but also interspersed with useful exercises for the reader to illustrate the words. The stuff on submodalities and associations is simply excellent.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to NLP, 30 Oct. 2004

However, the exercises themselves are excellent for people whose 'maps of the world' limit them in areas of their self esteem, goal setting and motivation. Worth reading if you are looking for new ways to improve your approaches to these areas.

4.0 out of 5 stars A UK NLP trainer recommends this tape!, 30 July 1999
By A Customer
Shed loads of practical, easy techniques for self-help, personal development and achieving your goals. Some British listeners might find the relentless "American" positivity and can-do attitude a bit grating. My advice: get over it! Our national cynicism is very useful in some contexts, but you have to use it discriminatingly or you can end up missing out on some really good stuff.
