3.0 out of 5 stars OK
It's an ok read but not as good as the reviews said it was. Bruce's early life was interesting but then it became like all autobiographies in showbiz - all name dropping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Authoritative & reveals a side to Brucie I never knew, 5 Oct 2012
This review is from: Brucie: The Biography of Bruce Forsyth (Hardcover)
I loved this biography of Brucie - it's a real page-turner.
It tells his story from being a child star called the Mighty Atom right through to Strictly Come Dancing.
The revelations about his private life will make your eyes pop out. You'll hear about him taking his first wife's virginity in the back of an Austin Seven on Streatham Common and the incredible highs and lows of that first marriage which included an affair with a former Miss World.
Then there's Bruce's affair with Kathy Kirby - dubbed the British Marilyn Monroe.
It then goes into the Anthea Turner years - more startling revelations about his private life (the struggles they had to start a family will bring tears to your eyes) - and his huge success on The Generation Game.
You'll discover how he wooed his beautiful third wife - another Miss World - and finally re-established his career on Strictly Come Dancing after being humiliated by ITV.
It's one long, breathless rollercoaster ride of highs and lows.
I couldn't put it down and have recommended it to several friends.
If you buy this for a friend's Christmas present, they won't join in the partying because they will be too busy reading. It is that good.

A very good read, found out a lot about him, didn't realise he could be so grouchy. He comes across quite different on TV. Have passed on to a friend to read
