very useful for understanding how the researchers interpret the world, specially if our world is a result of our behaviour. the book does not go byond the phylosophical discussion of the different paradigms that used in social science. however, the book is relevant for students who want to understand management in its broad subject.

As a DBA student this text was my first read to ground myself in organisational philosophy. A beauty parade of philosophical traditions that helped me find where I sat and how I needed to frame my thesis. It never left my side throughout my writing, helped keep me on track, and most importantly helped develop my critical thinking abilities. Yes, its heavy, yes some paragraphs need reading three times to really get the point, but its a text for doctoral study so thats what it needs to be, right!

Extremely comprehensive analysis. Print was very small which is a little off-putting particularly as the information is so detailed and in-depth, requiring concentration and reflection. Would be nice to see it better presented as the content is excellent.

Needed to read for an assignment as part of my MBA - no idea why this was relevant really. Felt like I knew most of the words, but so many sociological and philosophical terms that my brain was exploding every few sentences and required many look ups on wikipedia! Only for the true believers who understand such terms as ontology, solipsism and epistemology, as this book does not explain any basic concepts.
