Some foraging books have rubbish pictures but good content, some have really good pictures but no real substance. This book is different it has it all! It covers when to look for plants, has superb photos of what they look like, loads of folklore which helps give a story to remember plants by, size of plants so you know what to look for, lookalikes so you know what not to look for and where the plants grow. As a person who takes people on wild plant identification walks this book could put me out of a job!
Everyone gets ill and everyone gives a fortune to drug companies, don't bother and get this book instead. I could not reccomend this book any more.

This is the best little herbal book that I have found so far.it is small enough to carry around with you which is useful for plant identification which is one of this books forte. The plant pictures are excellent as well as good descriptions of the plants, when and where you will be able to find them. The book gives remedies, what to use them for and recipes for making both medicines and your own beauty products.

So many similar books out there but this was recommended to me as I was confused by the range of books out there and was very glad it was recommended, a great source of information and knowledge.

I already had some plant I.D. knowledge before I purchased this book, however I was a complete beginner in terms of herbal remedies. This book gives all the background I needed to prepare, take, store and use the plants for my home treatments.

The plants are grouped according to habitat, with a 3 page description and pictures of individual plants and their uses. In addition there is a section containing over a 100 common ailments and their remedies.

All of the plants are readily available and easy to forage in the British countryside. I have really enjoyed going out and collecting the plants and it's very satisfying to drink a revitalising herbal tea, that you foraged for free.
