5.0 out of 5 stars invaluable, 12 April 2011

This review is from: John Lennon: Living on Borrowed Time (Hardcover)
An invaluable insight into Lennons last years.

Seaman's style is to tell it as it is. There's no gloss or self promotion here, just raw and real memories of the late musician.

It tells of how John spent most of his days in his bedroom while Yoko spent most of hers on the phone in the office. but that's just the first part. It's filled with details and observations that make it compulsive reading.
A truly fascinating account and a genuine insider look from someone who was there.

4.0 out of 5 stars A valuable insight, 10 Jan 2013

This review is from: John Lennon: Living on Borrowed Time (Hardcover)
A valuable insight into the final years of John Lennon, that steps beyond the carefully constructed image of the Lennono love match and shows the desperate state the marriage was really in; Lennon at times cuts a lonely and sad figure, while trying vainly to win back Yoko's love and affection. Fred Seaman does a good job of illustrating John's moods and passions, but is a little biased and you get the feeling that a more even-handed approach would have been more appropriate.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Read, 29 April 2014

This review is from: John Lennon: Living on Borrowed Time (Hardcover)
This book shows that John and Yoko's Relationship was not the Epic love as she would have you believe! Indeed Yoko tried to have this book banned. Why? well becouse she is a manipulative bitch who in essence was a nobody wanting to be a somebody....enter the mighty John Lennon. Yoko identified that J.L was very lost and lonely in the world and needed someone to love him. She was only too happy to oblige. Once she had John (and his money) she completely lost interest in him in the same way she lost interest in expensive pieces of art that she bought with his money....once she owned them she never picked them up again. John loved her but she absolutely did not love him back. Since she fired John's ex FBI bodyguard...to save money (John's, for herself) Mark Chapman then shot him dead. I am convinced that in time John would have binned Yoko based on the evidence in this book.
