I've been an Internet user since its early inception, but until recently I had held out against ownership of a mobile phone. As a relative newcomer to mobile phones, and an absolute newcomer to Internet-ready mobiles, I'm probably this book's perfect target market. I learned much about the potential power of mobile devices when it comes to running and promoting an online business. As with all things computer-related, this book will have a short shelf life. By 2014, much of its information will be obsolete. For now, though, it's worth grabbing a copy and reading if you're new to the arena of m-commerce and want to give your business every possible chance of success.

This is a pretty comprehensive overview of where the business of m-commerce is right now. All bases are covered in an accessible, jargon-free narrative that is nonetheless extremely informative, and includes frequent, useful case studies.

With the wide use of smartphones and tablets, anyone business-minded or involved in marketing will find this overview of what is a relatively new- and quickly growing- area of the economy invaluable. The author at the start says he hopes his book will be around for a long time. Well I imagine it will be, but I strongly suspect with many revised editions because this a rapidly ever-evolving sector. You have to dive in somewhere though, and I doubt you can do much better than starting with Paul Skeldon's book.

This is a very informative book in regards to mobile commerce and describes many aspects of the digital revolution from healthcare, marketing to banking! Obviously, with a book that extends across many industries, the content is not extremely deep in how it works but more why it attracts consumers and corporations alike. Full of facts and figures, which do become too intensive and boring after a while, but still good to see different thought processes on the subject. More importantly, at the moment, it is probably one of the best books I've read on the subject!

M-Commerce is an introductory guide to the commercial benefits of promoting and selling through mobile devices. It doesn't go into a great deal of depth on any one topic, but is a highly useful jumping-off point for someone who understands business but not the new world of mobile.

You could get all the information here by reading internet articles for free. What you couldn't get is the steady hand of Paul Skeldon in giving each aspect of mobile web, apps, social networking and so on its appropriate weight and commercial application.

If you're in business and feel you or your business is being left behind by the mobile revolution, then this is a great book to read. The glossary will also help you make sense of the raft of new terms as you look at topics elsewhere in more depth. If you've grown up with mobile and mobile commerce, and are looking for something which (as the blurb promises) will help you 'master' mobile commerce, then this might be a bit more of a disappointment.

For its target audience, pure gold. If you're more of a mobile-commerce pundit, this might be a good book to lend to people who are just getting interested.

This was quite a useful introduction to m commerce. It doesn't hype it as much as some.

It is fairly comprehensive though at times it could have gone into greater detail.
It was quite easy to read and was easy to follow. This is a fast moving field so not everything in this book will be completely up to date.

It isn't an essential purchase as a lot of this information could be obtained for free but I got quite a lot out of it. As a general business guide I would recommend it.

Great book and so easy to read for those of us who are bewildered by the pace of modern communication technology. The Glossary is especially useful as one can see, at a glance,

exactly what all the jargon means. This book is particularly helpful and explanatory to those of the older generation who are desperately trying to 'keep up' . I shall now be

slipping the odd tecnoword in to my conversation and , for once, know exactly what it means!

I was expecting a bit more from this book. Anyone who owns a smartphone, even a casual user like myself is well aware of what is available after a bit of lightweight browsing on the App Stores. Anyone looking for something other than the obvious use of smart phones to aim advertising at users is likely to be a bit disappointed.

Great introduction to the power of mobile as a business tool. The author covers how mobile works - in layman's terms - and looks at where it is creating value for business both large and small. A great introduction to mobile and about time the power of the mobile channel was shown to those outside the mobile industry. A must for any business looking to compete in the 21st Century
