4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, 9 May 2013

This review is from: Underground Heritage (Hardcover)
If you were hoping for an exploration of the stations and their architecture you’ll be a little disappointed as the book has gathered the strands together – all clocks, all lighting, etc – from across the system rather than covering them station at a time, and the information is sometimes a little brief, although it is still interesting.

However, the facts and photos grow on you and for regular users of the Tube it provides a spotters guide to the things that are taken for granted everyday but which mark out the long history of the Underground and are still in everyday use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of photographs!, 11 Jun 2013

This is a picture book with captions and not a lot of text, but plenty of information nevertheless. Almost every page has at least one photograph and many have 3 or 4 - all colour. The grouping by subject rather than station works well because all the photographs are clearly labelled and there is a station index. I love the book - now can someone do one for the overground stations in London?
