3.0 out of 5 stars A Rehash of old anecdotes, 27 Feb. 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Funny, Peculiar: An Encyclopedia of Eccentric Acts, Bizarre Behaviour and Unusual Facts About the Famous and the Famously Strange (Hardcover)
An amusing little book that is intended just for dipping in to for those who enjoy pieces of interesting and sometimes hilarious trivia. However, there is one main problem - for those of us who actually read books on quotations and trivia regularly, it is obvious that most of the anecdotes are rather familiar and can easily be located in other reference works. If this is your first book on trivia then by all means buy it if you must. If you are an avid trivia fan, then my advice would be to press the search button of Amazon for a rich collection of titles on 'Irish quotations' or 'irish jokes' etc. This would yield a better choice.
