4.0 out of 5 stars A useful text on how to use induction motors as generators, 22 Jan. 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Motors as Generators for Micro-hydro Power (Paperback)
The book describes a practical approach to using induction motors as generators. Although only three phase motors are discussed in any depth, the book does describe how to successfully use these motors to generate single or three phase electrical power. Many necessary calculations are described in simple, easy to understand terms and could be followed by anyone with a basic understanding of school maths. The discussion of the control of such generators left a little to be desired, but it is practical to use the induction generator without sophisticated controls, so that may be of little importance. If you need to build your own generator using inexpensive, readily available parts, then this may be the only book you will need.
