5.0 out of 5 stars Quite simply the best!, 14 May 2009
This review is from: Mind Invaders: A Reader in Psychic Warfare, Cultural Sabotage and Semiotic Terrorism (Paperback)
Some there are that opine that Stewart Home is a miserable sort. Others sincerely hold that he is in fact a typewriter. Still others - those of a distinctly "Brownish" tendency - affirm, quite visibly and with hardly a hint of circumlocution, that the man is a chatterbox. But the simmering stew(art) under review here deals a deadly blow to such calumnies. As Dolores Gonzales-Hutchinson appositely observed in her (somewhat overplayed?) appreciation of Amber Patel's, Praxis and Axis: the diagnostic adventures of Indo-European phenomenological theology, (European Press, 2004) apropos of Fiona Wilson's cutting dismissal of the neo-Platonic tendencies of Desmond Ratcliffe's incestuously post-marginal exercise in The Vanishing Penumbras, (Southampton Publishing, 2007), "Such visions need not entertain us any longer; fortitude has had its day: we are now entering into a condition of post-fortuity in which all concepts must be re-appraised and to which all cataclysmic explosions of modern felicity will necessarily be subject." Even so, we might recall Lacan, "...la cause est venue de l'inconscient de plagiat vicissitude. Mais qui sera pour tout vestige d'un placage? Il est temps de suivre la camionnette blanche qui chargés de cartons de lait gras français a écrasé la vie d'un limpide Roland Barthes..."
