5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting new poet
This a beautiful book of poetry and I read it cover to cover in one night. I really enjoyed the poems about places in London I know so well - Hannah recreates the vibrancy and edginess of Brixton particulary well. She paints a very poignant picture of her father, a professional cards player. She has a unique voice and even those who do not know a lot about poetry...

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
Bought this after hearing the author on Radio 4 . Quite a small book with , for me very little literary merit but makes an interesting read.

5.0 out of 5 stars My type of poetry, 11 Feb 2013
This review is from: Chick (Paperback)
Hannah Lowe's poetry gives an amazing insight into the story of her Jamaican-Chinese father who moved to London and supported his family by being a professional card player. Some of her poems leave you smiling, others like being punched in the gut. If like me you thought poetry wasn't written for you, then give Chick a try and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
