5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite R S Thomas work yet..., 28 Dec 2001
By
This review is from: No Truce with the Furies (Bloodaxe) (Paperback)
Like much of his Thomas's previous work, No Truce with the Furies forces the reader to ponder some very difficult questions. These questions tend to deal with the many uncertainties of life (loneliness, death etc), and also God's role in the world he created.
Thomas seems to be warning against an over reliance on materialism. However, there are shafts of light that penetrate Thomas's dark world such as in "Island".
My personal favourites are "Still point" and "reflections".
