5.0 out of 5 stars Fighting yet Sassenach-friendly words, 22 July 2011
This review is from: Cabaret McGonagall (Paperback)
Glorious fun, with added Scottish testiness, rage even - the best humour always has clenched teeth. You may need to have a Scots dictionary to hand (no literary home should be without one, or at least the doughty Chambers) but this is probably less forbidding than Forked Tongue - less dour mebbe? - and it's certainly easier than learning Welsh. Not that we shouldn't try.

Eh'm mebbe bleedan in thi street
wi ma heid kickd in fur bein sae deep.
Eh'm mebbe here but fast asleep:
sae laive a message at thi beep.

But Claude Rains could have been spelt right. Testy, moi?
