The book is divided in 3 main sections: whisky history, whisky science and sales and marketing.
The first section is concise and condense, while the second one requires pretty good scientific knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry to get most of it, while the last section is the most accessible one. Probably the first book containing information on the whisky marketing.

Whilst I enjoyed reading the book overall it falls through the cracks of what a reader would want. It is too technical in several places for an enthusiast but not technical enough to be used as a reference for a distiller. The history section at the start is the best part of the book being well written and giving a comprehensive and succinct background to the main distilling regions of the world. Not really sure who this book is aimed at.
