A Great Intro to "The Master" of Fashion Design...
on 17 May 2015
As Dior once wrote, Cristobal Balenciaga was "the master" when it came to fashion. Having a great sense of what types of fabric complemented and complimented a woman's figure, Balenciaga consistently turned out incredible dresses and outfits that can still stop short the most jaded fashionista. This little book by Vogue covers most of the highlights of Balenciaga's work, though one would have liked a little more insight into how he came up with his ideas (to be fair, it appears Balenciaga was rather interview adverse, which is a shame). A great introduction to a great designer's work, enough that you should look to other fashion books, such as 100 years of Fashion, to gain more information about this formidable designer.
