5.0 out of 5 stars We Love This Book
My kids absolutely love this book - it's one of those rare children's books that manages to delight both of them, so that's a two year old and a just-five year old. The five year old particularly loves the drawings of the camel and the armadillo (although he can't properly say the word `armadillo'). The youngest has started to say some of his numbers, I'm sure down to the...

3.0 out of 5 stars The latest in a series about "dog"
Not sure about this. She has previously won a Roald Dahl funny prize, and this is not the first book about "dog". With so many counting books around, this is trying to be different. Dog loves books and when he can't get to sleep he decides that instead of counting sheep, he'd count other things from books - what he finds is a weird, eclectic mix of animals such as a 9...

The five year old particularly loves the drawings of the camel and the armadillo (although he can't properly say the word `armadillo'). The youngest has started to say some of his numbers, I'm sure down to the reading of Dog Loves Counting. It makes numbers and fun and wraps a story around the idea of learning them too. Best of all, I really enjoy reading it to them (come on, it's all about the mum, isn't it?)

3.0 out of 5 stars The latest in a series about "dog", 7 Aug 2013
This review is from: Dog Loves Counting (Paperback)
Not sure about this. She has previously won a Roald Dahl funny prize, and this is not the first book about "dog". With so many counting books around, this is trying to be different. Dog loves books and when he can't get to sleep he decides that instead of counting sheep, he'd count other things from books - what he finds is a weird, eclectic mix of animals such as a 9 banded armadillo, a 3 toed sloth, a 5 lined skink etc. Whilst there's therfore plenty there for a child to interact with, they're not exactly everyday objects and 1 and two are fudged as 1 is a Dodo and 1 dodo and 1 dog make 2. Colourful enough but I don't like the drawing of dog either.

My toddler loves the other dog books and this is no exception. Beautifully drawn and with some wonderfully odd creatures in it.. Great for his new interest in numbers!
