4.0 out of 5 stars Another Osprey quality book
Up to the usual standard for Osprey and covers in some detail the Battle of the Falklands. A useful reference.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cicero
A realy apreciated addition to the libery of any expert on the theme. But it`s the artwork accompaniing a well ballanced, thoroughly researched text that is realy stunning: Sheer catastrophy! Thoroughly out of shape and perspective. You realy learn to highly apreciate contemporary German propaganda illustrators. They at least knew how a ship rides in a sea. The best...

4.0 out of 5 stars Success of the battlecruiser, 13 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Interesting book, but shows that although a win for the battlecruisers their overall performance was atrocious, and if thoroughly investigated might have avoided the disasters at Jutland.

This review is from: Coronel and Falklands 1914 (Campaign) (Paperback)
A realy apreciated addition to the libery of any expert on the theme. But it`s the artwork accompaniing a well ballanced, thoroughly researched text that is realy stunning: Sheer catastrophy! Thoroughly out of shape and perspective. You realy learn to highly apreciate contemporary German propaganda illustrators. They at least knew how a ship rides in a sea. The best adjective I can find for the artwork in this volumne is "hillarious". The historical value of the artwork is beyond pronounciation as simply nonexistant. This shall not detract us from the work of the author, which is realy recommendable. It`s the artwork accompaniing his work which strikes us like hit in his face absolutly undeserved. I collect Osprey releases since 1974 and can not but wonder how the editor could alowe a research to be devalueated in that way. I hope this is not what we are supposed to expect in the future, because it will only lead to the ban of a much apreciated series of fast to be read books from one of the most comprehensive liberies on military history.
