5.0 out of 5 stars Planisphere
Just the tool required if you want to know what you are looking at in the night sky.
Some may find its use a bit awkward because it is held in front and above the head to get a proper bearing.

3.0 out of 5 stars fairly basic
It is what it is, as they say.
Fairly basic bought as a gift but proved to be not as inspiring as expected to be.

Delivery was very quick

5.0 out of 5 stars Glowing review, 7 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Philip's Glow-in-the-Dark Planisphere (Latitude 51.5 North): For use in Britain and Ireland, Northern Europe, Northern USA and Canada (Paperback)
It might sound gimmicky but being able to have the stars standing out is really useful, without having to have a light on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glow in the Dark PLANISPHERE, 29 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Philip's Glow-in-the-Dark Planisphere (Latitude 51.5 North): For use in Britain and Ireland, Northern Europe, Northern USA and Canada (Paperback)
As a relative newcomer to astronomy this product is of the greatest assistance in locating objects/constellations etc until I become more familiar with them. Later I anticipate it will still be useful as a prompt as to where to start looking for an object/constellation at any date & time of year.
The glow in the dark feature is perhaps not all it is cracked up to be but does assist viewing without compromising night vision.

I bought this for my brother in law for Xmas. He's an extremely amateur stargazer and apparently he thinks it is great so I would definitely recommend this item on that basis. I bought it having read a bunch of reviews of stargazing related books and other items on the internet and this seems to be very well regarded.

I think the Planisphere is good value for money, simple to use, and because you are looking with the planisphere orientated the constellations jump out at you. Wish I had one as a boy.

Good instructions and lots of detail. Rained every day since arrived so looking forward for clear night to try out, I'm sure the glow in the dark feature will be useful.

This is very educational. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been very good recently so we haven't been able to actually use it!

Wording on it too small to see at night and of course that's the time you would use disappointing planets are not shown on it as well as constellations, Fair for the price.
