5.0 out of 5 stars david tenant catherine tate MAAN, 16 Aug. 2011

This review is from: Much Ado About Nothing (Paperback)
i saw this play in london in the middle of may. it was the second opening night for much ado about nothing with david playing Benedict and Catherine playing Beatrice the two main characters. it is an amazing play and a definite buy for david tenant and catherine tate fans! unlike a lot of shakespeares plays this one is easy to follow and makes perfect sense. it is one of shakespeare's plays filled with comedy and even romance! there is constant bitter batter between the two main characters and an amazing production to see, not only did i get to see it once but i saw it twice because it was brilliant. if you aren't able to see the play than buy this play with catherine tate and david tenant on the cover. P.S. dogberry is hilarious!!!

like the play says this is a play of much ado about nothing, it focuses on things happening around 6 main characters when everything that happens in the play is caused by something that didn't need to happen, and was already evidently so in the characters. it is about what happens during circumstances that happened out of not admitting what was there in front of their face to begin with, and the problems that than occurred after not saying that it was so.

but aw that is life!

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Helpful, 2 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Much Ado About Nothing (Paperback)
This copy of the Josie Rourke adaptation was really helpful to me. I required it for writing an important essay for school and it was brilliant. It was really interesting to read the interviews and such to see Josie Rourke's reasons for making changes to the script. It was also interesting to compare this copy with the original script to see the changes. Overall very pleased with the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good!, 16 Sept. 2013
This review is from: Much Ado About Nothing (Paperback)
I bought this book because I absolutely adored Tate and Tennant in this production (so much that I've watched it nine times and read this book three times) and I was expecting the cut copy of the play but I got so much more!
The interviews at the beginning were so exciting to read and I particularly enjoyed the interview with Robert Jones who spoke about the set design process.
If you have seen and enjoyed this version of MAAN, this book is a must have!

Verified Purchase(What is this?)

I fell in love with this production when Digital Theatre distributed it, and now to have the editors' own notes and commentary to go along with the revised script itself is delightful.
